A Big Crowd of Hong Kong Protest Against Extraditions Law!

On Sunday 9 June 2019 in the late afternoon, a huge group of Hong Kong protesters came out against government plans to allow extraditions to China. The announcement of extradition law has announced since Monday 3 Jun 2019. After the authorities said they would go ahead with a proposed extradition law, allowing suspects to be sent to mainland China, which led to the protest against the government’s plan by unsatisfied Hong Kong citizens.

There were only a thousand protesters on the day of the announcement and the protest was ended with pepper spray after they attacked the police, but the number of protesters increased enormously on Sunday afternoon (9 June 2019), reaching half a million.

The protesters gathered at Victoria Park in central Hong Kong to protest the extraditions law and put pressure on Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam and her official backers. The march was heading to the Legislative Council in the Admiralty business district.
After five hours long, the march had ended and half a million protesters had disappeared.

During the march, some of the protesters shouted “Hong Kong, never give up!”, “Step down,” and “shelve the evil law.”
Up to now, Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam has not mentioned anything about this.

The intense situation did not occur only in Hong Kong but in Sydney, there were also migrants from Hong Kong gathered to protest and urge the Australian government to condemn the proposed new law.
