Trump Administration Aims to Cap Indian Work Visa to 10% over Forced Data Localization!

It has been reported that Trump administration is aiming to cap on Indian H-1B work visas due to the forcibility on foreign companies to store data locally. The threat came as trade tensions between the U.S. and India had resulted in tit-for-tat tariffs in recent weeks. On Sunday, India imposed higher tariffs on some U.S. goods days after Washington withdrew a key trade privilege for New Delhi.

In the report, Indian government officials stated that the U.S. government planned to cap H-1B work visas issued each year to 10% or 15% of the annual quota.
