HK Airport Shuts Down for 2nd Day in a Row as Protestors Breach Airport Terminal!

It has been reported that all the remaining outbound flights from Hong Kong have been cancelled as the airport has yet again been shut down for another day on Tuesday afternoon after protesters staged another demonstration at Hong Kong airport and began to occupy the departure area of Terminal 2 at 4:30pm.

The Airport Authority had adopted a measure to tighten access to the check-in area of Terminal 1 from Thursday, when the protests began. The step limited access to passengers with boarding passes for the next 24 hours.

“Airport operations at Hong Kong International Airport have been seriously disrupted, all departure flights have been cancelled,” said in a statement on the Airport Authority’s website. “All passengers are advised to leave the terminal buildings as soon as possible. Affected passengers please contact their respective airlines for flight arrangement.”

 

While the protesters are demonstrating in various places across the city to force city’s leader Carrie Lam out, in return, she said “Violence, no matter if it’s using violence or condoning violence, will push Hong Kong down a path of no return, will plunge Hong Kong society into a very worrying and dangerous situation.”

“Take a minute to think, look at our city, our home, do you all really want to see it pushed into an abyss,” Lam said, although she again refused to make any concessions to the protesters.
