“Thavich” Sees Adversaries Aiming to Obstruct IFEC’s Recovery Plan, Using Employees as Tools.

Mr. Thavich Taychanavakul, CEO of Inter Far East Energy Corporation Public Company Limited (IFEC) has made a clarification following the petition of a group of people, who claimed to be employees of IFEC despite working or positioning at the head office, demanding for monthly wage from the company.

In the statement, Mr. Thavich has said that since the first day of his time being elected as a CEO he and other executives have requested the previous executives to submit financial documents but never received any, including list of employees or information of employing employees to work outside the head office.

Previously, the company had sent a notice to employees, requesting them to be presented and reported as IFEC’s employee at the head office to clarify on the change in executives.

In the morning of August 28, 2019, Mr. Wichai Thavornwattanayong, former director of IFEC which currently does not hold any position in the company, had submitted a paper to the company, requesting for a payment for public utility and other expenses without any listed items needed to be paid or clarification in the paper.

Thus, the company sees no reason to pay for the amount that Mr. Wichai requested. Mr. Thavich asserted that since taking the position, the company had never paid a monthly wage to the group of people who claimed to be IFEC’s employees, and not knowing who paid for their wages.

Mr. Thavich said that he had just known last week that there had been a payment to a certain group of employees while some of the employees did not receive the payment, causing dissatisfaction and leading to an action against the current executives who works righteously for the company and shareholder’s benefits.

Later, on August 29, 2019, Mr. Wichai had gathered a group of people including IFEC’s employees and those who are not to petition at SEC and then at IFEC’s head office in a manner of a threat which caused a negative reflection on the company, and the company will proceed with a legal action after this.

In addition, Mr. Thavich urged audiences to carefully digest the news as it could be the news specifically created to put a negative reflection on the company. Regarding not receiving the monthly wage, Mr. Thavich asked those who claimed to be IFEC’s employee to report for duty as stated in the notice earlier and the company will verify employees’ status and aid according to the actual state while noting that the executives understand the trouble employees are facing, but the process must be made before the payment and prompt cooperation from employee will speed up the process.
