CHO Files a Petition against BMTA, Claiming ฿1.56b for Terminating E-Ticket Service.
According to Cho Thavee Public Company Limited (CHO) entered into a rental contract for providing the E-Ticket system with equipment to the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA), to provide the installation of E-Ticket and Cash-Box system for 2,600 buses, with a 5-year rental period, a contract valued 1,665,000,000 baht. Afterward, CHO has received a contract termination letter from the government agency with the project value of the terminated contract amounting to 1,665,000,000 Baht.
On September 4, 2019, CHO assigned an expert legal firm to file a petition against the government agent, at the Central Administrative Court, undecided case no. 1998/2019 between Cho Thavee Public Company Limited (as a complainant) and the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (as a defendant), claiming for damages or services or rental charges that should be paid to the company amounting to 1,556,074,766.36 baht with an annual interest rate of 7.5% calculated by the date after filing a petition to the payment date.
The contract security must be returned to CHO with a late return charge arising from the late return of such security.
