Thai October Exports Decline 4.54%, Imports Fall 7.57%.


Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO) Ministry of Commerce has stated that Thai exports in October declined by 4.54% YoY to USD 20.76 billion, compared to market expectations of a 3.7% fall and following a 1.39% growth in the previous month.

As for the ten-month period from January to October, exports dipped 2.35% from a year earlier. The commerce ministry predicts exports to grow by 3% this year, while the state planning agency sees exports falling 1.2%.

Imports contracted 7.57% YoY to USD 20.25 billion in October 2019, following a 4.24% drop in the previous month and compared to market estimates of a 6.6% plummet. In the first ten months of 2019, imports dropped by 4.09% from the same period of last year.
