GPSC Reports of No Damage on Xayaburi PP, Namlik 1 PP and Houay Ho PP from Earthquake

Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC) has reported that according to the earthquake incident with a magnitude of 5.9 in the Northern region of Lao PDR on 21 November 2019 at 04:03 a.m., the center was located at Hongsa city, Xayaburi province. According to the inspection taken place, GPSC has not found any damages and failure of the dam, structures and project facilities. GPSC is now conducting detailed visual inspection and monitoring of the facilities.

GPSC’s affiliates, Xayaburi Power Plant (XPCL) located at Xayaburi province in Lao PDR, with a total installed capacity of 1,285 MW for electricity. GPSC holds 25% stake in XPCL. Namlik 1 Power Plant (NL1PC) located at Vientiane in Lao PDR, with a total installed capacity of 64.5 MW for electricity. GPSC holds 40% stake in NL1PC. Houay Ho Power Plant located at Attapeu province in the southern part of Laos, with a total installed capacity of 152 MW for electricity which Glow Energy Public Company Limited, GPSC’s subsidiary, holds 67.25%.
