Listed Companies Rejoice as OCAP Delays the Listing of “Perpetual Bond” as “Debt” for 3 Years.
On November 25, 2019, The Oversight Committee on Accounting Professions (OCAP) had a resolution to postpone the decision to list the perpetual bond as debt in the financial statement for three years starting January 1, 2020 by listing the perpetual bond as a part of shareholders’ equity for the listed companies in the stock market that had issued the bond or received the payment of the bond before December 31, 2019.
Currently, there are eight listed companies who had already issued the perpetual bond at a total value of 77 billion baht namely; Minor International Plc. (MINT), PTT Exploration and Production Plc. (PTTEP), CP All Plc. (CPALL), Charoen Pokphand Foods Plc. (CPF), Indorama Ventures Plc. (IVL), Ananda Development Plc. (ANAN), Property Perfect Plc. (PF) and TTCL Plc. (TTCL).
Moreover, four listed companies are also preparing to issue the bond within the time frame at a total value of 32 billion baht namely; Indorama Ventures Plc. (IVL), Bangchak Corporation Plc. (BCP), Thai Union Group Plc. (TU) and B.Grimm Power Plc. (BGRIM).
