SET Jumps 5pts. over the Positive Sentiment on Signing “Phase One” Deal on Jan. 15!

Thai stock market jumped 5.32 points or 0.34% to 1,585.16 points on the first trading day of 2020 after the U.S. President Donald Trump said that he will sign the “phase one” deal on January 15.

The “phase one” deal between the U.S. and China is expected to be signed in Washington on January 15, 2020, according to Trump. The deal, which had been reached on the agreement last month, exempted the imposing of import tariffs on Chinese products worth $160 billion while Beijing promised to purchase $50 billion worth of U.S. agricultural products in 2020.

The deal was said to roll back some tariffs on Chinese products as well.

 

“At a later date I will be going to Beijing where talks will begin on Phase Two!” tweeted Trump.
