Three Casualties from al-Shabab’s Attack on US Military Base in Kenya!
The American military has stated that three people, including a US service member and two civilians, have been killed in an attack by al-Shabab, a jihadist militant group, on a military base in Kenya’s Lamu County which used by the U.S. and Kenyan military personnel.
Other than the attack in Lamu, two other Department of Defense personnel were wounded in the attack on Camp Simba.
The attack was meant to breach into the Manda Airstrip but had been successfully repulsed. Four terrorists were confirmed dead while the airstrip was safe.
Earlier, al-Shabab said in a statement that the raid resulted in “severe casualties on both American and Kenyan troops stationed there”.
“The mujahideen fighters covertly entered enemy lines, successfully stormed the heavily fortified military base and have now taken effective control of a part of the base,” said al-Shabab.
The attack occurred in various spots in the past, including in neighboring Kenya. This attack comes nearly a year after al-Shabab launched a deadly suicide attack on the upscale 14 Riverside complex in Nairobi, killing 21 people.
