US Denies Iranian Foreign Minister Visa to Attend the UN Meeting in New York!
Following the uneasy geopolitical situation between the U.S. and Iran, the U.S. has denied a visa to Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who aims to attend a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York this Thursday, said a U.S. official.
Last week, the U.S. President Donald Trump issued an assassination command on high-commander figure Iranian, Qasem Soleimani which later killed the target by a drone attack in Baghdad and sparked the dispute between the two countries.
The U.S. claimed that the denial of Iranian Foreign Minister’s visa was for security, terrorism and foreign policy reasons, though under the 1947 U.N. “headquarter agreement,” the U.S. is generally required to allow access to the United Nations for foreign diplomats and Zarif’s trip was planned before the recent tension.
