SET Dives 33pts as Fear over Virus Outbreak Rises after a Report of Additional 6 Cases.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index opened the afternoon session with a plummet by 33.25 points or 2.61% as investors continue to monitor the development of the government’s stimulus plan to fight the economic slowdown caused by the coronavirus outbreak.
The Ministry of Public Health announced 6 additional confirmed cases today, raising the nation’s total cases to 59.
More importantly, some of the cases were reported on persons who went or worked at essential points in Bangkok such as Suvarnabhumi Airport, tourist attractions, major business building, etc.
The government also issued a measurement to cancel free visa for Hong Kong, South Korea and Italy, while cancelling Visa on Arrival for other 18 countries.
