FX Gain Buoys BCPG’s 1Q Profit by 16%, “Lomligor” Maintains Its Better Performance by Higher Wind Speed.
BCPG Public Company Limited (BCPG) has reported its 1Q20 consolidated financial statement through the Stock Exchange of Thailand as follows;
BCPG recorded a net profit of 573 million baht, increased by 82.1 million baht or 16.71% YoY. The increase was mainly due to an increase in foreign exchange of 325 million baht, while recurring net profit from operation in 1Q20 decreased in YoY and QoQ due to unusual drought condition in Lao PDR affect hydropower plants “Nam San 3A” and “Nam San 3B”.
EBITDA from operations in 1Q20 continued to increase both YoY and QoQ due to recognition of better performance from “Lomligor” which was caused by higher wind speed. Besides, the share of profits from investment in associates (before amortization and one-time item) also increased both Indonesia that had lower planned shutdown days and the Philippines that was elevated by higher wind speed from monsoon season in 1Q20.
