China Will Act in Response to Foreign Interference on the New HK’s Legislation.
As tension in Hong Kong increases, China said it will take countermeasures on any foreign interference regarding the new national security laws Beijing aims to implement on Asia’s financial hub.
In response to the comment of the U.S. President Donald Trump, threatened to sanction China if the country moved on with the new legislation, the Foreign Ministry stated that it will act accordingly.
The law, that Hong Kong fears, is aimed at prohibiting secession, subversion of state power, terrorism activities and foreign interference, according to the draft last week.
However, Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam said on Tuesday that the new national security laws proposed by Beijing will not affect the city’s rights and freedom of people in Hong Kong.
