Virus Outbreak and Nationwide Lockdown Drag BDMS’ Profit in 2Q Down by 75% to ฿457M

Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited (BDMS) has reported its 2Q20 consolidated financial statement through the Stock Exchange of Thailand as follows;

BDMS reported a decrease in net profit in 2Q20 by 75%, dropping to 457 million baht, compared to a net profit of 1,865 million baht in 2Q19. The decrease was mainly due to its lower operating income in the quarter.

BDMS’s operating income during the second quarter of 2020 was 13,977 million baht, decreased 29% YoY. The decrease was mainly due to the lower revenue from hospital operations of 30% YoY, which was impacted by a decrease in both Thai and international patients’ volume affected by the coronavirus outbreak, and nationwide lockdown.
