BTS Denies the Rumor of Maxing Train Fare at THB158 amid Delayed Approval from Cabinet

BTS Group Holdings Public Company Limited (BTS) has made an announcement to deny the rumor of hiking its train fare to THB158, citing that the mentioned fare is the price according to its previous concession.

 

The company asserted that it would maintain the maximum fare at THB65, including all extension lines, until the Thai Cabinet makes the decision on its extended concession with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA).

BTS made a negotiation with BMA to extend its concession for 30 years in exchange for taking in BMA’s debt of over 8,000 million baht and a condition to limit its fare cap at THB65. However, the deal must obtain approval from the Thai Cabinet before going into action.
