U.S. Vaccinates 1 Million People, 19 Million Shy from the Projection by the End of 2020
U.S. Only Vaccinates 1 Million People, 19 Million Shy from the Projection by the End of 2020.
The distribution of coronavirus vaccines appeared to be slower than what the U.S. officials had expected as only 1 million people had been vaccinated out of the projection of 20 million people by the end of December.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that as of Wednesday morning 1 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine, which is 19 million people shy from its earlier projection to vaccinate 20 million people by year end.
The official stated that the distribution took longer than expected as some deliveries went to the wrong destinations and others went out on the wrong day. Still, the U.S. government has done a good job so far of distributing millions of Covid vaccine doses from Pfizer and Moderna, stated Army General Gustave Perna while adding that the distribution process is getting better each day.
The U.S. has 18.5 million coronavirus cases while recording 326,000 deaths. The vaccines are the key to a full recovery to the U.S. economy, and Washington still has 327 million people to go before being able to vaccinate all of its citizens. According to experts, 70% vaccination out of the whole population would be efficient to curb the spread of the coronavirus down to the minimum.
