STGT Expects a 0.5% Decline of Production Volume in 2021 after the Fire Incident

Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited (STGT) has made an official announcement that on 21 February 2021, there was a fire incident at the extension of Surat Thani 2 located in Moo 7, Phlai Wat Sub-district, Kanjanadit District, Surat Thani Province. The fire was under control within 2 hours. Total damage and cause of the fire is under assessment and no casualty from the incident.

The fire incident does not affect the existing production plant as it was the extension site of Surat Thani which only started a test run earlier February 2021. STGT expects an effect on the production volume of approximately 200 million pieces from the installed capacity at 35,800 million pieces in 2021. The property damage from the fire is fully covered by insurance and the production is expected to be resumed in the next 2-3 months. The fire incident does not affect the expansion projects at any other locations.
