EGCO’s 2020 Profit Drops 33% after Recording Lower Income from Power Generation Business.
Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO) has reported its consolidated financial statement of 2020 through the Stock Exchange of Thailand as follows;
In 2020, EGCO recorded a net profit of 8,733 million baht, decreased 33.13% from a net profit of 13,059 million baht in 2019. The decrease in net profit in 2020 was mainly due to a decrease in power generation business of 1,679 million baht. Meanwhile, the company recorded higher loss from impairment at 2,400 million baht, compared to a loss of 611 million baht in 2019.
As of December 31, 2020, EGCO’s portfolio consisted of 28 operating power plants, with a total contracted capacity of 5,423 megawatts equity and 2 power plant construction projects, with a total contracted capacity of 321 megawatts equity.
