Thai PM Receives AstraZeneca Jab despite Suspension from European Countries.
Thailand Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha received an AstraZeneca vaccine in the morning of March 16, 2021. The vaccine will be rolled out to frontline workers and people in the kingdom despite many European countries suspending the rollout.
Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand, received the first coronavirus vaccine from AstraZeneca today after a postponement last week due to the report of patients developing a blood clot.
Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Ireland and the Netherlands have become the latest countries to suspend AstraZeneca vaccine jabs temporarily over blood clot concerns, following the report last week that there were cases in Europe of developing blood clots after the vaccine was administered.
Nevertheless, the World Health Organization (WHO) said last week that there is no link between the shot and an increased risk of developing blood clots.
Meanwhile, AstraZeneca stated that A careful review of all available safety data of more than 17 million people vaccinated in the European Union (EU) and UK with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca has shown no evidence of an increased risk of pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or thrombocytopenia, in any defined age group, gender, batch or in any particular country.
