PTTEP Continuously Discovers Gas Well in Malaysia, Expecting More to Come in 2Q21
PTTEP continued to discover more gas well in offshore Sarawak, Malaysia. The company expected to discover one more well in 2Q21.
PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) announced that PTTEP HK Offshore Limited (PTTEP HKO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTTEP,has successfully made a discovery of gas at the first exploration well, Kulintang-1, in Block SK438, located in offshore Sarawak, Malaysia.
Commenced in March 2021, the Kulintang-1wildcat exploration well was successfully drilled to a total depth of 2,238 metres in April 2021. PTTEP expected to drill another exploration well in this block in the second quarter of 2021.
Block SK438 is located in the shallow water, approximately 108 kilometres off the coast of Sarawak (Bintulu). PTTEP HKO is the operator with 80 percent participating interest while PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. holds 20 percent interest.
