Keep an Eye on KBANK as MSCI Deletion to Take Effect At the Closing
At the closing of today's session, KBANK will be deleted from MSCI GLobal Standard Indexes due to the NVDR capping.
Today, at the closing of June 7, 2021, MSCI GLobal Standard Indexes will delete Kasikornbank Public Company Limited (KBANK) from the index.
MSCI made an announcement on June 2, 2021, that KBANK will be deleted from the index, following earlier deletion of Kasikornbank FGN (listed in Frankfurt, Germany).
While the specific reason for this deletion was not stated in the announcement, Capital Nomura Securities (CNS) said that the deletion was due to KBANK’s NVDR capacity that was almost full at 25%.
Still, CNS believed that the deletion would not have any impact on KBANK’s fundamentals and expected the panic sell during this period to be the opportunity to accumulate the stock.
