According to the news reported on January 23, 2019, that CAT Telecom Public Company Limited (CAT) was in a process of buying Thaicom Public Company Limited (THCOM) from the major shareholder, Intouch Holding Public Company Limited (INTUCH) where all parties denied the rumors, later today, a new rumor has been circulated. It has been reported by a reporter from a relied source that THCOM held a Board of Directors meeting to consider issuing a dividend from the operation in 2018 and also an additional dividend as well. From speculation, the reason for this additional dividend is due to a Cash Drain, which INTUCH will receive the last dividend from THCOM before selling the stake to CAT, causing INTUCH to retain large amounts of cash than usual. As for THCOM’s 9 months financial statement, the company has 3,552.21 million baht of cash and 4,930.49 million baht of unappropriated retained earnings. Currently, THCOM has a total of 1,096 million ordinary shares, while INTUCH holds 450,870,934 shares of THCOM or 41.14%.
