WHA Utilities & Power Public Company Limited (WHAUP) reached an agreement to install a solar rooftop, with a capacity of 2,012 KW, at the second factory of Asno Horie (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Following the installation in March of a similar project at Asno Horie’s first factory, this second project is expected to be completed and generate revenue in October this year. WHAUP CEO says the new contract will drive its electricity-generating capacity, in terms of shareholding equity, to exceed 597 MW, up from the full-year target of 591 MW. Dr. Niphon Bundechanan, Chief Executive Officer of WHAUP revealed that with its determination to provide integrated solar rooftop installation and services, the company has been entrusted by customers and recently was awarded the new contract by Asno Horie (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a leading auto parts producer, to install solar rooftop at its second plant in WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (Rayong). Covering 18,360 square meters, the second plant’s solar rooftop will have an installed capacity of 2,012 KW, due to be completed this October and gradually generate revenue under the 15-year service contract. Prior to this, WHAUP successfully installed a solar rooftop at Asno Horie (Thailand)’s first factory, covering roof space of 14,375 sq m, with an installed capacity of 1,617 KW. The first phase was completed in March and began COD under the 20-year service contract. WHAUP was tasked to provide the solar rooftop at the second factory due to the quality of its installation and services. The two phases of solar rooftop installation at Asno Horie (Thailand) will have the total installed capacity of 3,629 KW, to be used for its auto parts production lines. This new contract will bring WHAUP’s electricity-generating capacity in terms of shareholding equity to 597 MW, a slight increase from the 2020 forecast of 591 MW. Mr. Hidehiko Horie, President of Asno Horie (Thailand), said the company is confident in WHAUP’s potential and expertise and awarded it the additional solar rooftop installation contract because WHAUP is the specialist in engineering design, installation and construction. Besides, WHAUP also takes care of necessary permits and provides integrated after-sales services by a professional team that understands safety standards for the customer. Asno Horie (Thailand) sees the importance of solar rooftop installation, in line with its policies on energy saving, environment protection and greenhouse-effect reduction. The two phases of solar rooftop installation will help the company reduce electricity costs by up to 230 million baht during the 25-year agreement and offset CO2 emissions.
